Account sign up and new user on-boarding for the iOS mobile app is a complex flow requiring careful consideration of the technical constraints, user experience for new and existing customers and seamless integration between the mobile site and native iOS app. I documented the detailed technical flow along with some ideas for tackling account signup and on-boarding for different user categories via various sign up channels.
This diagram was printed on a large format printer and was used during a 2 hour design discussion with the team which included the CTO, Head of Product, Design Manager, Director of Engineering for Mobile and the Product Owner for Mobile to evaluate the proposed options. The team jotted down their feedback, concerns and questions on post-it notes during the session.
